FAQs about Celebrants

Are Celebrants expensive to book?

No, not at all. My standard fees compare to the cost of a registrar doing an event at a venue. The difference is that you will be supported with ideas, writing, and much more, and I don't charge more for events on a weekend, bank holiday, evenings, or other holidays.

Am I limited as to when, where or how I have my ceremony?

No. Your ceremony can take place whenever and wherever you want, so let your imagination run wild. The venue doesn't need to be licensed either. Formal, informal, inside, outside, big or small, anything goes!

Will my wedding with a Celebrant be legally binding?

No. You have to attend at the Registry Office, with two witnesses, to make your legal declarations and get the paperwork done - this makes the marriage legal. Notify the registry office that you intend to marry and book a date in advance that works for you. It's a small cost. Then at your ceremony you can make your personal vows and enjoy celebrating in your own way with friends and family.

Will it really be our bespoke ceremony and not the same as someone else's?

Yes absolutely. The format, script, vows, rituals, stories are all about you, not someone else. So the key thing is to work with you to come up with your ceremony that reflects your love and your personal journey and those that you love.  

How much do we do and how much does the Celebrant do?

Each ceremony is different, but there are some standard elements of my service included in the standard fee (see each ceremony page.) At the end of the day, I will accommodate your needs, likes and preferences, working together with you to fit with your theme and ideas, adding ideas and suggestions where needed.
